Volunteer with us for a greener Damascus (Fri 26/Dec)

We will meet at the bus station (jisr al rayes) at 9:30 am
And then either leaving for one place of different places, depend on the number.
The focus area will be "Midan" streets and gardens.
• Please bring your own drinking water
• And bring your friends!

Aims of this activity:
- promote sense of responsibility and ownership among participants.
- Encouraging participants to carry on their own volunteering projects.
- try to clean green areas as much as we can, focusing attention on "Plastic wastes"
Note: please confirm if you are planning to volunteer so I can plan the activity better knowing the number of volunteers :)
Very important note: this activity is completely independent from any NOGs or any other organization, just punch of people willing to do some volunteering in Friday 27th Dec.

Be there or be Square!

there was a volunteering activity to celebrate the World Volunteer Day ,on 5th of this month ,I wanted to go but I missed it ,this time around I think I will make a contribution.
that activity was sponsored by the red crescent along side the UNDP and other bodies.
I wish you good luck ,count me in:)
have you set up a Facebook group/event?

Actually the photo above is taken on that day (the IVD), I attended almost the whole day's activity, it wasn’t organized well, it was good fun though and good effort, most of the volunteers skipped the clean-up and came after to the kids fair. After the clean-up I volunteered with UNDP corner, there were many creative ideas and kids were interested in the environmental issues, it was good but, not efficient enough if you know what I mean.

This activity is smaller, way smaller. I started an event on facebook but made it only for friends because making it public will give us fake numbers of attendance. Maybe next time I will try to plan for a bigger event.

So pleased you will make it, so see you on Friday! ;)

What a great initiative! If I were in Damascus I would have signed up immediately, no doubt about that, but since I'm not, I would just like to say thanks to you and all other volunteers. I happen to value independent small actions like this way more than the ones by big-shot organizations.

Thank you so much Katia, I agree that small individual actions are sometimes more powerful than big shot organisation's events.
Thank you again :)
